NIT Grand Alumni Homecoming 2007

The NIT Alumni Association wishes to announce the Grand Alumni Homecoming on September 29, 2007 (Saturday) at the NIT Gymnasium and Grounds. This yearsâ€™ host is NIT Batch 1982, headed by its President Engr. Pablo Nueve.

Presently, the NIT Alumni Association is composed of the following:

The main objective of the association at present is to strengthen its support to Naval Institute of Technology being its alma mater, by raising more funds for institutional projects. In this way, our presence as alumni members can be felt long after the revelry of the homecoming has died down.

Although the association is very grateful for the active leadership of the past batches in organizing the previous homecoming activities, the fact remains that most of our energies in the past were focused on assuring that the homecoming is made memorable â€“ with the greater purpose for the batchâ€™s distinction rather than our contribution to the deeper meaning of what is to be an alumna or alumnus of NIT which is to help strengthen her as an educational institution.

In this regard, the NIT Batch 1982 and the present composition of the N IT Alumni Association collectively agreed to jointly undertake all the planning and execution of hosting the 2007 NIT Grand Alumni Homecoming. This involves, foremost, the unified request for funding support from members, friends and sponsors. All proceeds, less the overhead expenses of the activity, shall go to the NIT Alumni Fund for the continuance of the projects funded by the efforts of the previous batches.

Part III 8:00 AM Town Parade (from NIT Grounds to Vicentillo Street towards the bus
Terminal, then Caneja Street towards Garcia Street, and then P.I. Garcia Street and back to the NIT Gymnasium).
Part IV 9:30 AM Opening Program / Start of Alumni Games
10:00 Canvassing of the Ms. Alumni Queen 2007
General Assembly to be attended by Batch Presidents and two (2)
other representatives per batch to discuss amendments/revisions
to the NIT Alumni Association Constitution and By-Laws

Warm Christian Greetings!

The NIT-Alumni Association with the new set of Officers and Board of Directors (BOD) for FY 2006-2008 will once again spearhead the 2007 Grand Alumni Homecoming on September 29, 2007 in time also for the Fiesta Celebration of Naval.

This yearâ€™s Host or Celebrant is High School Batch â€™82 led by Engr. Pablo Nueve, Jr. and two other sitting BOD members, namely: Mr. Eliseo Sabagkit and Mr. Jesus Naquila.

The activities lined-up for this yearâ€™s homecoming are the following:

Part I - 6:00AM – REGISTRATION by Batches (P1,000.00/batch)

Part II - 6:30AM at NIT Gym â€“ THANKSGIVING MASS with Fr. Delano Alcon Mocorro and Fr. Cornelio Amante, both alumni of NIT as Officiating Priests.

Part III - 8:00AM – TOWN PARADE starting from NIT Grounds right after the Mass. The route will be passing Vicentillo St. moving towards Bus Terminal then to Caneja St. going upward to Garcia St. then back to the NIT Gym for the continuation of more activities to follow.

Part IV- 9:30AM – OPENING PROGRAM (A separate copy of the parts of the Program will be distributed after the Mass to include the Socials in the evening).

10:00AM – CANVASSING of the Ms. Alumni Queen. The Committee thru this Popularity Contest will canvass/count and identify the first five (5) of all participating Batches. A 50-50 sharing has been agreed upon by the BOD of which proceeds of the 50% sharing will go to the funds of the Alumni Association and the other half will be given back to the participating Batch during the Socials in the evening. The five candidates will dance the Kuratsa Number during the socials to ascertain who among themselves will be crowned Ms. Alumni Queen â€™07 and so on and so forth. All the proceeds of said Kuratsa Number will solely go to the Alumni Association.

As the Canvassing takes place, a GENERAL ASSEMBLY will be called to be attended by each Batch President and 2 other representatives of every Batch to discuss amendments and/or revisions to the Associationâ€™s Constitution & By-Laws at the new Audio Visual Room (AVR) of the campus.

As the canvassing and assembly proceeds the rest of the members will enjoy
the FUN GAMES that will be conducted by Host Batch â€™82, i.e. Bingo Socials (3 lechon- at stake as prizes), etc.

Part V - 6:00 PM – SOCIALS at the NIT-Gymnasium
Dance . . . . Dance . . . Dance

11:00PM – Coronation of Ms. Alumni Queen 2007
12:00PM – End of Activity

All of the above activities will be a resounding success if you give your 100% attendance and the rest of your batchmates in High School. This is the moment where all our collective effort and assistance is being called upon by our Alma Mater while also enjoying the wonder and excitement of being together with our beloved batchmates and schoolmates to reminisce our golden memories during our school days here at our beloved Naval High School/Naval Institute of Technology.
