CNSAT celebrates 16th TESDA founding anniversary

Naval, Biliran – It will be a grand celebration next week as Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trades (CNSAT) in the municipality of Cabucgayan in Biliran province observes the 16th Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Founding anniversary this year.

According to Mr. Lino Severino, CNSAT School Administrator, in a letter-invitation sent to PIA-Biliran, the weeklong celebration which starts on August 16 and ends on August 25 will be highlighted by various activities lined-up by the school administration to make the occasion more colorful and meaningful to the students, faculty, school officials and the community as well.

He informed that on Monday, August 16, CNSAT which is under the supervision of TESDA in Biliran province will conduct an Entrepreneural Development Training for technical vocational students, adding that the training will be in two sessions, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon.

Furthermore, he said, that the grand opening of the celebration on Tuesday, August 17, starts with a parade at 8:00 o’clock in the morning and this will be followed by an opening program to be held at the CNSAT school compound.

The opening program, he said, will be followed immediately by a Skills Olympics in areas of Motorcycle Small Engine Servicing, Food and Beverage Service (FBS) which includes Skirting and Flower Arrangement and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) National Certification (NC) II.

He further informed that on Wednesday, August 18, CNSAT has scheduled a Work Values Seminar for TVET trainees assigned by qualifications. First batch of trainees will have their sessions in the morning and another batch will have their schedule in the afternoon.

A free skills training for out-of-school youth (OSYs), the unemployed and persons with disabilities (PWDs) is set on Thursday, August 19 at the school compound in the fields of commercial cooking and baking and pastry production.

On August 20, a free assessment is scheduled for the free skills training conducted a day before in areas of commercial cooking and baking and pastry production.

On August 23, which is a Monday, a free assessment with 10 trainees for each qualifications will be done on a first come-first serve basis in areas of Food and Beverage Service, Automotive Motorcycle Small Engine Servicing, Massage Therapy, Plumbing and Bartending.

To keep the training participants, students, faculty, administration officials and staff physically fit while enjoying the celebration, sports activities and parlor games are scheduled on Tuesday, August 24.

On the same day, film showings are scheduled and this will be followed by an open campus tour to the different workshops.

CNSAT’s weeklong observance of the 16th TESDA Anniversary will be capped with a morning mass at 10:00 o’clock on August 25 and a meeting of the administration and faculty which will be highlighted with a presentation of accomplishments by department and presentation of strategies for the period July – December this year.
