Last October 30, 2009, the BiliranIsland.com staff had a photo-shoot at Higatangan Island with the website’s new model Tremaine Abad, the 16 year-old beautiful daughter of Mr. Arnold and Mrs. Marilyn Abad of Naval, Biliran.
The team rented a pump boat to take us to the famous sand bar but we hesitated in going at first because of rough sea condition. Then the webmaster requested a rubber boat for back-up from the good governor which he granted immediately. We left Naval port at 11:30 am and arrived in Higatangan Island at 12:30 pm. Our sponsor, the Higatangan Island Beach Resort provided us with free accommodation. The resort was awesome, with the beautiful landscape and very comfortable modern rooms.
Tremaine had the pictorials at the Higatangan Beach Resort and the shifting sandbar; and the photos will grace the website for its tourism campaign. After the photo-shoot, Tremaine and her friend along with the photographer Yhongs left the island and headed back home; while the rest of the team agreed to stay overnight at the resort where we sang our throats out with the videoke. Since the power supply of the island is very limited and only has electricity from 6 pm to 10:30 pm, the townsfolk only have 4 hours and a half to enjoy their television sets, to charge their cell phones, and to make ice in their refrigerators. The resort has its own power generator, so we still enjoyed the videoke while the rest of the island was covered in total darkness.
We headed back home in the morning with bright faces and were mesmerized by the beauty of the magnificent rock formation. The weather was fine, the sea was calm, and our hearts were captured by the resplendence of the island. As I told myself that I shall come back and fall in love with its charm over again.

Ading, you’re welcome, so nice to hear from you. It’s a pleasure having jalmz and his company at the resort. I heard they had a blast. And jalmz, thank you for the ad. It’s amazing how popular your website has become. We are receiving inquiries from all over the world! Im still hoping for an airport in Biliran. The travel from Tacloban or Ormoc is the biggest challenge. OK Ading, just let me know when youre coming. I havent seen you guys for a very long long time except my cousin N-N and Leonor, and yes, Mr H, a few years back. Be nice if im around at your reunion next year.
