Brgy. Larrazabal, Naval, Biliran – The presiding judge of a regional court here ordered today to present in court the two members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) who were allegedly involved in the Biliran ambush that happened on June 7, 2008.
Judge Bienvenido Montalla of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 16 directed to bring to the court SPO3 Charlie Almine Ando and PO3 Jovito Sy Cabillan.
The court order was directed to Superintendent Honorio R. Agnila, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (RCIDG) in region 8.
The court order was to bring to the court the 2 CIDG suspects immediately upon receipt of the order.
SPO3 Ando and PO3 Cabillan were under the custody of the CIDG 8 office at present after they surrendered to the same office on January 3, 2010.
Meanwhile, Judge Montalla also orders the suspension of the petition for bail filed by Atty. Tabao, counsel of the 2 CIDG suspects, until the accused are presented in court.
Present also during the court hearing was SPO3 Renato Saul wearing a colored orange prisoner shirt printed with the acronym BPJ (Biliran Provincial Jail) with the word detainee under it.
SPO3 Saul was one of the alleged suspects in the Biliran ambush.
