TACLOBAN CITY-There are at least eight private armed groups connected to political clans most of them are in the three provinces in Samar.

Senior Supt. Honorio Agnela, newly-designated regional head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said that those eight private armed groups mostly operating in Samar and connected with political clans have an estimated 100 armed men which is now subject for a close monitoring and more intelligence build-up by the CIDG operatives in coordination with the PNP and the military.

Col. Agnela, however, emphasized that while the authorities are also monitoring the political situation in Samar, they are also investigating reports of partisan armed groups in Biliran and Southern Leyte subject for validation.

This paper obtained the names of those armed groups and identities of their members, yet the CIDG head requested to temporarily withhold their identities to protect their ongoing investigation.

“We finally came up into identifying those partisan armed group which is being maintained mostly by political clans , and who are those people we have all their names, pero hindi pa due for public consumption at least alam ng mga otoridad kung sino sino sila at madali nalang natin makilala kung kasali man manggulo sila sa darating na election, and we cannot allow that to happen,” Agnela said.

From the 132 armed groups nationwide composed of more or less 10,000 men, according to the earlier statement of Sec. Gonzales, it could be used by several candidates to intimidate their opponents in next year’s elections, except that in Samar some politicians were already identified maintaining those armed groups.

Intelligence report said those groups are in possession of high-powered firearms.

Those politically-connected armed groups are in possession of some of the more than 800,000 unaccounted firearms in the country.

The CIDG official also said that it is normal for the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the police to monitor armed groups wherever they are. What I’m trying to do now is put this all together and convert it into a plan,” he said.

Earlier, PNP Regional Director Chief Supt. Rey L. Lañada has ordered tactical police units to go after private armies in their jurisdictions.

He instructed the PNP Regional and Provincial Mobile Groups to dismantle and neutralize all known private armed groups that are widely believed protected by local warlords and politicians.

Until now the PNP in coordination with the military in Samar are intensifying its campaign against loose firearms. MIRIAM GARCIA DESACADA

The worst candidates who want to win this election are those making crime scenarios purposely to connect their opponent as mastermind. Using his/her available powers while in the opulence. They don’t even mind the future of those children/beneficiaries of alleged perpetrator, while the one who commit that crime are those whisperer to the innocent. This criminals are free to toss & fro and making fun of the innocent. Take a look on what happen to the shooting incident, they want to connect the said incident to the innocent policeman in order to show them that they are powerful even without proof.. Is this the kind of justice in biliran wherein with a short finger & in a twinkling of an eye innocent people seen behind bars while the true one is free..

“A single match stick can destroy a million trees” this phrase would simply means that through a single word create a million destruction to people lives especially here in Biliran. Political Issues on low performance in previous term blaming others mistake would not give solution in an orderly & peaceful election but rather through unity and forgiveness to political rivalry can make it a solution, Private Armed Group (PAGs) will diminish if not eliminate. One of the reason why this political candidates maintaining their private armies because they do not trust God but rather trusting themselves of being a powerful one, they just ignore the existence of the Law. Take a look with this proverb “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine understanding”
