PP bus figures in another accident

Catbalogan City (August 17, 2010) Paranas Police Chief Lucino M Quimado expressed dismay over the seemingly reckless PP bus drivers who have figured in road accidents in Paranas town.

On August 15, 2010, PP passenger bus with plate number TYR 814 reportedly driven by one Gilbert Antido from Alang-alang, Leyte, bound for Naval, Biliran while in the Maharlika Highway of Lipata, Paranas collided head-on with a six-wheeler Isuzu cargo truck driven by one Elmer Bacarra of Jiabong, Samar.

It was learned that the truck was travelling from Davao City bound for Bicol.

The accident caused minor injuries to at least five passengers of both the PP bus and the truck and were immediatelt brought to the Samar Provincial Hospital for treatment.

The driver side of both the bus and truck were extremely trampled that onlookers would think some casualty would have been possible but it turned out that the passengers suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the ill fated bus fled away and are still being pursued by the Paranas PNP.

It will be recalled that accidents invloving the PP bus lines have claimed Samarnon lives in the past, the most recent one was the death of one woman known as Susan Araza in Barangay Pabanog in May 19, this year.

It took two days for the police to remove the two vehicles obstructing traffic at the busy Maharlika highway. (PIA-Samar)
