Biliran police needs help to finish construction of chapel

NAVAL, Biliran – The Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO) announces that they need help from kind-hearted residents of the province and even outside of the area to help them finish the construction of their chapel which is right inside the compound of the provincial command.

This was announced by police Sr Supt Alfredo Sabornido recently during the Kapihan sa PIA live over Radyo Natin-Naval where he was guest.

He said, they are still working on the flooring of the chapel and other finishing touches to complete the construction.

It was learned tha the construction of the chapel inside the BPPO was initiated by police Sr Supt Leonardo Cesneros, former provincial director of BPPO and now the deputy director of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) located in Silang, Cavite.

“The putting up of a chapel at the BPPO compound helped strengthen the spiritual life of the PNP men in Biliran. The staff would just drop at the chapel to pray before they start their work or transact business at the office”, he added.

BPPO has a scheduled mass every month for the staff and the chiefs of police in the eight municipalities of the province of Biliran. In this activity, two chiefs of police are assigned as hosts and sponsors to take charge of the preparations before the mass.

The mass is followed by lectures on values formation and other topics related to spirituality, discipline, and love of work.

PSSupt. Sabornido said since he assumed office as provincial director of the BPPO, none so far were there policemen who did not perform well in their duties as peackeepers.

“The policemen report to their respective units in the municipalities and in the provincial office in complete uniform and with proper haircut”, he said further.

Meanwhile, PSSupt. Cesneros in an interview with PIA today informed that part of the funds for the construction of the chapel at the BPPO compound which was started during his time was made possible through a donation from a Biliranon who is residing in one of the municipalities in the province and married to a foreigner.

PSSupt. Sabornido said that they are still pursuing for more kind-hearted donors to complete the construction of the BPPO chapel. (PIA-Biliran)
