By Lanie Pitao-Tupaz

NAVAL, Biliran – In line with the Civil Registration Month this February, 2011, the National Statistics Office (NSO) – Biliran Provincial Branch headed by Rose Marie Lumbre, in coordination with the Association of Biliran Civil Registry Personnel (ABCRP), is conducting symposia in the different secondary schools of the province of Biliran.

The symposium aims to recommend solutions to problems on civil registration raised by students, faculty and staff of the secondary schools they visited to straighten the records particularly that of the students while still in high school so that they can have enough time to settle their problems before going to college and before taking the board exams.

Other concerns are also welcome during the symposium to prepare the students for the Provincial Civil Registration Quiz set on February 16 where the chosen winner will compete in the regional finals on February 23 in Ormoc city.

It was learned from Renavil Cueva, Statistician II of NSO-Biliran that the symposia are scheduled on the following dates: Feb. 2 – Naval State University; Feb. 3 – Lucsoon National High School and Naval School of Fisheries; Feb. 4 – Almeria National High School and Tabunan National High School; Feb. 7 – Tucdao National High School and Kawayan National High School; Feb. 8 – Manlabang National High School AND Biliran National Agricultural High School; Feb. 9 – Bool National High School and Culaba National Vocational School; Feb. 10 – Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trades and Cabucgayan National High School; Feb. 11 – Cathedral School of La Naval and Naval National High School; and Feb. 15 – Lightbringer Learning Center.

Cueva added that the Local Civil Registry Office of the eight municipalities of the province of Biliran will hold mass weddings. Schedules are to be confirmed in their respective municipalities.

These municipalities will also provide free issuance of live birth certificate, marriage certificate, and death certificate on February 28 as part of its culmination activities.

For further information, Lumbre advises interested recipients to call NSO-Biliran provincial office at telephone number 500-9723 or to visit their office at the 2nd floor of Yulefems’s Bldg., located at corner Vicentillo and Sabenorio Streets, Naval, Biliran. (PIA Biliran)

red if u are correct that the total voters are 66,926 for vice governor. the totals for congressman and governor should be similar not 14777 more votes for congressman if this is the case it need to be looked at as it is obvious something is wrong and needs to be looked aty IE manual count by comelec form outside the province.
