PNP-Biliran steps up campaign against illegal fishing

NAVAL, Biliran – The Philippine National Police (PNP), Biliran Provincial Office headed by Police Senior Superintendent Alfredo Sabornido steps up its campaign against illegal fishers in the province of Biliran.
In a mobile phone interview today with PSSupt Sabornido, he informed that each municipal police office of the eight municipalities of Biliran are closely monitoring their respective territorial seas against fishermen who use illegal means to catch fish.
He added that since the time they have tightened the monitoring of the Biliran seas, there was a noted decrease in fishermen engaged in dynamite fishing, fish poisoning and electrocution of fish in big quantities.
He reported that just last week, a fishing boat was spotted fishing near the territorial seas of the municipalities of Caibiran and Culaba in Biliran province. The fishing boat was apprehended by the joint police force of said municipalities and necessary penalties were imposed.
He said the municipalities in the province are very particular about fishing boats doing fishing a few kilometers from the shorelines because these will destroy the breeding areas of fish and probably kill small fish even before they reach maturity.
Meanwhile, PSSupt Sabornido informed that the entire province of Biliran is generally peaceful.
In an earlier interview during the Kapihan forum, he said, police visibility is a factor that contributed to lower crime incidence in the province. (PIA-Biliran)

PD Sabornido be sure to enforce the law ng walang exemption, baka naman Police pa mismo o kaya Mayor pa ang mag utos na gumamit ng dynamite para mayroong pangpulutan at pang ulam.

UY! S/Supt. Sabornido maora man identified nani si MR. Mokles Dinamita Y De Paboto. Basin gusto pa nimo pangayuon ang iya address para imo madakop. haha… Ayaw ko ingna nga ang ila mga negative comments bahin nimo matuod gayud..
Si BuCor Chief Diokno raba was forced to resign. Basin naay mosunod….
