LGU-Biliran constructs new municipal building

NAVAL, Biliran – The local government unit (LGU) of Biliran in the province of Biliran will soon undertake the construction of its new municipal building which is right beside the old municipal building.

This was bared by Mayor Leandro Enage in an interview with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Biliran Provincial Information Center yesterday.

He informed that the upcoming construction of the new two-story building will provide a more comfortable working space for the employees and a spacious session hall for the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of the local government unit (LGU) of Biliran.

He added that the old municipal building will be renovated and once completed, it will house the municipal museum and public library where the townspeople can view the historical display of LGU-Biliran and the students can make use of the library for them to do research work for their assignments in school.

For other infrastructure program of the municipality, Mayor Enage said that presently, LGU Biliran will soon do some rehabilitation work of their wet market. When finished, he said, the structure will be more presentable and spacious with the vegetable, meat, fish and other sections of the market in place.

“Vaccination of all dogs in town led by the Municipal Agriculturist Office of Biliran is on-going until all dogs shall have been vaccinated. We are doing this to prevent the spread of rabies in our area,” he said.

“We are undertaking the various programs and projects of the municipality phase by phase depending on our budget, but one thing sure, we are doing our best for the improvement of the lives of the residents of Biliran town. (eopt/FEJ/PIA 8 Biliran)
