The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines informed of the scheduled power shutdown on some of its transmission facilities on March 4, 2012.

March 3rd, 2012

Mr. Elmer Cruz, corporate communications officer of NGCP Visayas, announced that for about 20 minutes between 8:00 o’clock to 9:00 o’clock in the morning on March 4, 2012, power shutdown will be experienced.

The affected distribution facilities are the Biliran Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BILECO); Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative (DORELCO); Leyte III Electric Cooperative, Inc (LEYECO III); Leyte V Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO V).

Specific cities and municipalities to be affected by the power interruption are deter-mined by the abovementioned Distribution Utility (DU), unless the activity affects the entire franchise area, Mr. Cruz underscored.

The DU allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users.

Mr. Cruz said that the reason for the shutdown is the de-energization of Tunga-Palo 69kV transmission line as per request from Leyte III Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO III), in line with their maintenance activity.

Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion, Mr. Cruz said.

NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.

Meanwhile, Mr. Cruz informed that the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) restored power transmission services at 12:43 in the afternoon of March 2, after an outage hit Eastern Samar at around 10:42 in the morning of March 1.

Customers of Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative (ESAMELCO) experienced the unplanned power interruption due to the tripping of Wright-Taft 69 kV transmission line. Said outage was caused by a toppled transmission tower in Brgy. Binaloan, Taft, Eastern Samar, Mr. Cruz said.

NGCP extends its sincere apology to power customers for the inconvenience that the recent unscheduled outages have caused.

NGCP continues to strengthen the transmission network with its regular maintenance activities done in close coordination with ESAMELCO, Mr. Cruz assured. Both utilities are working together to improve services to power consumers, Mr. Cruz added. (PIA 8)

red if u are correct that the total voters are 66,926 for vice governor. the totals for congressman and governor should be similar not 14777 more votes for congressman if this is the case it need to be looked at as it is obvious something is wrong and needs to be looked aty IE manual count by comelec form outside the province.
