Biliran Congressman Rogelio J. Espina said that the completion of the concreting of the Biliran circumferential road will be finished before his term ends in 2013.
Congressman Espina made the statement before thousands of Biliranons who attended the anniversary program of the 20th Biliran Provincehood Anniversary on May 11, 2012 at the capitol grounds.
The first-termer congressman of the Lone District of Biliran said that some 20 kilometers of the more than 152 kilometers Biliran circumferential road have already been completed.
“It’s only approximately 4 kilometers of unpaved road of the Biliran circumferential road are up for completion, hopefully in 2013”, he said
Data from the DPWH-Biliran revealed that the remaining 4.6 kilometers of unpaved road of the Biliran circumferential road is located at the Cabucgayan-Caibiran section.
He also said that he already talked and asked DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson regarding the funding for the completion of the remaining unpaved portion of the Biliran circumferential road.
“Hopefully the fund for the completion for the concreting of the Biliran circumferential road will be included in the 2013 General Appropriations Act or next year’s national budget,” he added.
Meanwhile, Congressman Espina also announced the construction this year of the concreting of the three bridges in Biliran province namely: Talibong bridge in Cabucgayan, Mainit bridge in Caibiran and Tucdao bridge in Kawayan, all in Biliran province.
He said that the construction of the concreting of the three bridges this year will complete the concreting of all the 34 bridges in Biliran province.(PIA Biliran)
