DepEd 8 evaluates four Biliran schools as best implementors of brigade eskwela 2012

NAVAL, Biliran – Four schools in the elementary and secondary levels of the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Biliran were evaluated on Tuesday, July 10 by a team of evaluators from DepEd region office no. 8 as entries to the Regional Search for Best Implementation of Brigada Eskwela 2012.

This was learned from Elwin Moncada, elementary grades teacher of the Naval Central School in an interview.

He informed that evaluated were one big school and one small school in the elementary level of DepEd-Biliran and these are the Naval Central School (NCS) and Sabang Elementary School (SES) both in the municipality of Naval.

The evaluation team likewise evaluated the Almeria National High School (ANHS) of the municipality of Almeria and the Naval National High School (NNHS) of Naval town for the secondary level.

He added that the schools were evaluated in three different sectors.

Sector A pertains to the school building improvement of the school-contestants based on their School Improvement Plan (SIP)

Sector B includes the volunteer participation of the different sectors of the community to include private individuals and organizations, religious sector, barangay officials, municipal and provincial employees and other groups.

Sector C pertains to the increase of enrollment of the schools.

In Naval Central School, Mr. Moncada informed that there is an increase of five percent in the enrollment of the school for School Year (SY) 2012-2013. At present NCS has total enrollment of 1,474 pupils.

The evaluation team headed by Dr. Ursula F. Rojas who is the co-chairman of the DepEd-8 Regional Brigada Eskwela Monitoring and Evaluation Team will go around 40 public elementary and secondary schools regionwide for a period of one month to evaluate other schools.

Three public elementary schools and three public high schools will be endorsed by the team to represent DepEd region 8 in the search for the 2012 National Best Brigada Eskwela Implementtors. (PIA Biliran)
