PMSMEDC initiates organization of Biliran chamber of commerce and industry

NAVAL, Biliran – A chamber of commerce and industry comprising of businessmen will soon be organized in the province of Biliran as the provincial council on micro, small and medium enterprises made a bold step towards the creation of the business group.
The organization of a chamber of businessmen in Biliran province came out as one of the three motions in the meeting of the Biliran Provincial Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Council (PMSMEDC) on July 13 at Marvins Seaside Inn, Atipolo, Naval, Biliran.
Tiburcio Morales, Jr. co-chairman, Biliran PMSMEDC informed that the organization of the chamber of businessmen in the province of Biliran would pave the way for a meeting of the minds among the businessmen which is most helpful in pushing for the development of micro-small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province.
“The organization of the chamber of businessmen would give a good signal to the business environment in the province” Morales said.
He added that he will work with the provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) where he mandated the latter to facilitate its organization the soonest possible time.
Morales also urged the member-agencies of the Biliran PMSMEDC to scout for possible members of the chamber of businessmen and submit the names to DTI.
He suggested to the council members that each type or sector of businesses in the province will be represented in the chamber to be organized like contractors, hardware, medical, farmers, market vendors organization and other types or sectors of businesses in Biliran province.
