Biliran solon to double number of TESDA scholars

NAVAL, Biliran – More Biliranons have now the opportunity to avail of the scholarship offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as Biliran Congressman Rogelio J. Espina assured to double the number of TESDA scholars.

“I will double the TESDA scholarship grant in the release of the next tranche of my Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF)” Congressman Espina said in his message during the family day of TESDA-PDAF scholars on July 20, 2012 held in TESDA-Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trade (CNSAT) in Cabucgayan, Biliran.

It was learned that Congressman Espina released an initial amount of P200,000 from his PDAF for the Congressman Rogelio J. Espina TESDA-PDAF Scholarship Program.

Another P1M was also set aside from Congressman Espina’s PDAF availed by 121 TESDA scholars now presently enrolled in the different short-term TESDA courses in TESDA-CNSAT.

Meanwhile, Congressman Espina informed the TESDA scholars to also avail of the Pantawid Hanapbuhay- a financial assistance offered to new graduates while they are still looking for employment.

He also called on the TESDA-CNSAT administration led by Lino R. Severino, vocational school administrator, to organize the TESDA-CNSAT alumni for the purpose of sharing employment experiences and raising funds to further improve the scholarship program.

The representative of the lone district of Biliran also assured TESDA-CNSAT to provide the needed equipment to be used by the scholars such as more welding machines, cooking gas range, other vital equipment and funding for repair works of some building of the school. (rvictoria/PIA 8 Biliran)
