ABS-CBN urged to probe and suspend Noli de Castro

MANILA, Philippines – Former vice president and now TV Patrol anchor Noli de Castro is again in hot water.

ABS-CBN’s network Ombudsman has received a letter from a concerned citizen from Biliran urging the broadcasting giant to suspend and investigate de Castro.

The letter sender, Victor A. Del Rosario of Naval, Biliran, and also a media practitioner, said ABS-CBN should look into the critique of President Benigno Aquino III against de Castro.

Aquino, invited as the guest of honor at the 25th anniversary celebration of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol at Manila Hotel last Friday, used the occasion to attack de Castro.

He said negativism in media was holding back the country’s progress.

In remarks that caused an uneasy silence among the party crowd, Aquino singled out the TV Patrol anchor and former Vice President for undue negativism and voicing “baseless speculations.”

He minced no words in saying that many of the problems he faced were inherited from the previous administration of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and De Castro as Vice President.

Aquino came prepared with examples of De Castro’s alleged bias. He recalled a news report about the rescue of a child by the National Bureau of Investigation wherein De Castro quipped that the rescue may have been a set-up.

In his letter, del Rosario urged ABS-CBN to suspend de Castro and launched an investigation into the President’s complaint.

ABS-CBN and de Castro are yet to comment on the letter.

    This is again a politically motivated attack against former Vice President Kabayan Noli de Castro. Let us remember that the 2004 Vice Presidential race was closely fought between Sen. Legarda and Kabayan Noli.

    Natural man lang siguro nga ang media may pagka kritiko jud sa mga bagay-bagay nga ilang nakit-an og na obserbahan otherwise they will be perceived as administration puppet.

    Hay kining pulitika, bisag dugay na nga panghitabo mo resbak jud og makalugar. For the record, i did not vote for either Legarda or Kabayan. My point is let bygones be bygones. Let us move forward na and work together for the betterment of this country.

    Kana raba si Noli de Castro nakatabang raba na sa Almeria particularly sa Brgy. Caucab. Kung wala ko masayop siya ang nagpasemento anang kalsada sa Sitio Cabungasan patungas ngadto padulong sa palayan. Morag dili man siguro makatarunganon nga ato siyang e reklamo sa iyang mga pag komentaryo kay kana agi lang og pagpakabana sa mga nahitabo sa palibot. Usa man kini siya ka seasoned anchorman sa television og dili ko makatoo nga walay basehan ang iyang gipagawas nga mga obserbasyon. Gani balanse man ang ilang mga point of view sa finale sa TV Patrol kay si Korina pro admin man ang iyang comment. Si Ted mogawas lang nga neutral piro as a whole i think balanse man ang ilang pagpagawas sa mga isyu. Its sad nga si PNoy gani igo lang mipagawas sa iya usab nga obserbasyon but never call the attention of ABS-CBN ombudsment to investigate Noli. Unfortunately taga Biliran pa gyod noon ang mi reklamo. To Noli de Castro please don’t think of it nga kini ang pulso sa mga Biliranon. This is simply an act of one Biliranon nga wala mahimoot sa imong pagpagawas sa mga tinuoray nga isyu sa panahaon.

      red if u are correct that the total voters are 66,926 for vice governor. the totals for congressman and governor should be similar not 14777 more votes for congressman if this is the case it need to be looked at as it is obvious something is wrong and needs to be looked aty IE manual count by comelec form outside the province.
