Biliran to showcase local products in national trade fairs

NAVAL, Biliran – Local products in Bliran province will be showcased in the two upcoming national trade fairs that will parade the best local products in the entire country.

Ronelo G. Jamin, provincial officer, Rural Micro-Enterprise Promotion Program (RUMEPP) based at the Biliran office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), said that the identified local products will be exhibited in the booths of Biliran province in the following national trade fairs that will be held in the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City , namely: Proudly Made in the Philippines One Town One Product (OTOP) Fair on September 19-23, 2012 and the Bahandi Trade Fair on November 7-11, 2012.

“Local food products made of sticky rice locally known as suman and dried fish and handicrafts made of romblon and bamboo will be showcased as Biliran’s products in the two national trade fairs”, Jamin informed but with reservations that other local products may also be included.

The Biliran exhibitors in the two national trade fairs include suman of the Naval Suman Makers Association (NASUMA)in Naval, Biliran and the dried fish of the LRB Cabucgayan Aquamarine Processors Association in Cabucgayan, Biiran in the food product, he added.

He further said that the bamboo craft of the Salangi Bamboocraft in Salangi, Almeria, Biliran and the romblon handicraft of the Looc Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Cabucgayan, Biliran will form part of the Biliran exhibitors to the two national trade fairs.

“There are five booths allotted for Biliran province in the Bahandi Trade Fair and one consolidated booth in the Proudly Made in the Philippines OTOP Fair” the RUMEPP provincial officer said.

He revealed that NASUMA and LRB Aquamarine Resources Processors Association will occupy one booth each and a consolidated booth for the Salangi Bamboocraft and the Looc ARB MPC in the Bahandi Trade Fair.

It was also learned from Jamin that NASUMA and the LRB Aquamarine Processors will only occupy in one consolidated booth in the Proudly Made in the Philippines OTOP Fair. (rvictoria/PIA 8 Biliran)

    This is one political filipino trait when it comes to election that MUST change! Nobody concedes defeat, ug pilde gilingbugan. Labi na ni si Glenn, anogon jud kay I thought when he first won na he would be an example of how a winner should portent to be, instead nagsigue lang ug pang yawyaw nga walay hinundan against the Espina’s! So the people wised up and threw him under the bus! Let this be a lesson to upcoming politicians na ug magdaug mo do the job that the people elected you to do, and stop going after the person that you defeated!
